About FairRoofQuote

FairRoofQuote is an independent website that helps homeowners get free quotes from vetted local roofing contractors. We don't do roofing work ourselves, we're not affiliated with any contractor or roofing brand, and we don't have a preferred provider we steer people toward. Our job is to get you connected with local contractors who compete for your business, and to give you the information you need to make a good decision before and after you get those quotes.

How it works

What FairRoofQuote is and how it works

FairRoofQuote is a lead generation site. When a homeowner submits a quote request through the form on this site, that request is passed to Networx, our lead matching partner. Networx matches the request with up to 3 licensed local contractors who cover the homeowner's area and job type. Those contractors then contact the homeowner directly. For a more detailed walkthrough of each step, see the how it works page.

FairRoofQuote earns a referral fee from Networx when a qualifying request is submitted. That fee is paid by Networx, not by the homeowner, and it has no effect on what contractors charge or which contractors are matched. We have no financial relationship with any individual contractor on the Networx network and no stake in which contractor a homeowner chooses, or whether they hire anyone at all.

The guides and content on this site, covering roof lifespans, replacement costs, the repair vs replacement decision, what to look for in a roofing estimate, are written and reviewed independently. That content exists to help homeowners understand what they're dealing with before they talk to a contractor, not to push them toward any particular outcome.

A straight answer on incentives: we make money when homeowners submit quote requests. That creates an incentive to make this site useful enough that people want to use it. We think that's a better alignment than a model where we earn more if you hire a specific contractor or choose a more expensive material. It's not a perfect arrangement, but it's an honest one.

How we review content

Our editorial process

The roofing guides on this site are written to reflect how residential roofing actually works, not how it reads in manufacturer brochures or contractor marketing. Every piece of content goes through a review process before it's published and is updated when cost data, material standards, or industry practices change.

Content is reviewed for technical accuracy by licensed roofing contractors with residential installation and project management experience. Reviewers check that cost ranges reflect real-world pricing rather than best-case scenarios, that material lifespans match what contractors see in the field, and that the advice on decisions like repair versus replacement is grounded in practical economics rather than generalisations.

Reviewers are independent contractors, not employees of FairRoofQuote. They do not receive referrals through this site and have no financial stake in which contractors homeowners choose or whether homeowners hire anyone at all. Their role is to make sure the information here is accurate and useful, not to promote any particular product or service.

Our position

Why being independent matters for a site like this

Most roofing content online is written by contractors trying to win local business, by aggregators who earn more when you hire a specific contractor, or by content operations that have never seen a roof in person. In each case the incentive structure shapes what gets written, what gets emphasised, and what gets left out.

FairRoofQuote earns the same referral fee regardless of which contractor you choose, which material you pick, or whether you decide on repair or replacement. We have no contractor relationships that would make us inclined to push metal roofing over asphalt, or recommend replacement when repair is the honest answer. The content is reviewed by a working contractor rather than a copywriter, and the goal is to be genuinely useful at the point when a homeowner is trying to make a significant financial decision about their home.

That doesn't mean we have no interests in the matter. We do. We make money when people submit quote requests, which means we have an interest in being useful enough that people want to. But we don't make more money if you choose one contractor over another, spend more on your roof, or take any particular action after you get your quotes. That's the independence that matters here.

Our partnership

Our relationship with Networx

Networx, Inc. is our lead matching partner. They operate the quote request forms embedded on this site, maintain the contractor network, and handle the matching process. When you submit a form on FairRoofQuote, your information goes directly to Networx. FairRoofQuote does not independently receive, store, or manage your contact details. For full details on how your information is handled, see our privacy policy.

Networx vets contractors before admitting them to their network and removes those that generate complaints or fail to follow up with homeowners consistently. They are an established lead generation and contractor network operating across most of the US. We work with them because the contractor vetting process and network coverage suited what we were trying to build for homeowners. That's the extent of the relationship: they run the matching and contractor side, we provide the content and the front end that homeowners come through.
